NEWS FROM THE VALLEY June 30,
2008 2008 Season is Underway There will be no racing at TVR this weekend—hope everyone has a safe and fun 4th of July holiday. There will be a Wednesday evening practice on July 9th from 6-9 PM. Concessions will not be open this night. Racing resumes on Saturday, July 12th with Double Features and Double Points. The way this night works is every division runs a heat and feature race, then we have intermission. The field is inverted from the first finish and we have a second set of feature races. Racer fee for this event will be $40.00. Two sets of trophies will be awarded this night as well as two sets of points! On Sunday, July 13th we are having our first Bring a Friend to the Track Day. See the enclosed sheet for all the details! On Saturday, July 19th we’ll be celebrating our 10th Anniversary by opening the gates early and starting racing at 2 PM. We will be having the make-up races from June 21st (all of them), then a break, and racing will resume with the heats and features previously scheduled for the night. Gates open at 12 noon, practice from 1:30-2:30 and racing begins at 2 PM. No additional fee for the racers this day unless you were not here on June 21st. You may still enter to race this day, see Marti for details. The make-up races for Saturday, June 28th will be announced at a later date. No racing the weekend of July 26th & 27th. Another Wednesday evening practice will be held on July 30th from 6-9PM. Thanks to all our sponsors for supporting our
program: New for 2008 ~A “punch card” for pit passes is available for $100.00. Purchase 12 pit passes for the price of 10. If you bring a minor friend or relative to the track, you must also bring a hand written note from their parent or guardian for us to keep on file. All required paperwork must be completed before they will be allowed entry. The track is available for rent. Cost for a 3 hour time block is $100.00, with a kart limit of 3. Each additional kart will be charge $34.00. Call the track line to make reservations. Just a reminder that payment will be expected when you register at the gate for all your pit passes & registration fees. All parts purchases must be paid for at the end of the race or practice day, unless other arrangements have been made. Cash, checks, MasterCard & Visa are accepted. As most of you know, I have been sending weekly updates by e-mail. If you wish to have them sent to a different e-mail address or an additional one, just let me know. Please return your completed Driver Profile sheet to the Parts Building ASAP. It’s yellow this year. If you didn’t get one, see Marti or Ben. The Thursday Night Thunder karts are ready to roll. Gather a group of friends or co-workers and call the track line to make your reservations. They can be run any time during the week, as long as it doesn't interfere with the weekly racing program. Welcome to all our new racers this season—Eryka Minoty, Max Cookson and Jake Smith in the Kid Kart Division; Dakoda Doolan, Samantha Harvey and Hunter Morris in the Box Stock; Reid Lanpher in the Jr Sportsman; Eddie Truman and Sheldon McCormick in the Sprint Animal; and Jay Morris and Lyle Bailey in the Champ Animal Division. We are a full service kart shop that stocks most any part you would ever need for kart racing. Nate is also available to help with kart set-ups, scaling, alignment and installation of kart parts.
